VOLUNTEER // Invasive Johnson Grass Removal Workday
Help keep McAllister Park beautiful by helping to slow the spread of a terrible invasive weed! Duties for the event may include raking and bagging thatch, hand trimming seed heads, hand pulling or shoveling out underground rhizomes (tuberous roots) and sowing native seeds or planting native plants.

Represent the Friends of McAllister Park at this tabling opportunity at the Outside for All, a celebration of the diverse outdoor recreation and green space opportunities in our community. FOMP will host a table at this event. Please contact us if you would like to volunteer to help host the table.

EVENT // The Natural Wonders of McAllister Park - Guided Nature Walk
Join Certified Texas Master Naturalist, Bob Morris, for a guided nature walk in McAllister Park. You’ll walk Mud Creek Trail and explore native plants and physical features of the park. Plan to walk approximately 1 mile on a bumpy natural surface trail. Bob's Principle interest is educating the public on Land Stewardship with a particular emphasis in native ecosystems and water resources.

EVENT // Fest of Tails - Kite and Dog Festival
Enjoy a fun, family-friendly day at McAllister Park flying kites and enjoying dogs in costumes! This is the biggest event at McAllister Park every year and brings thousands of people. For more details visit the San Antonio Parks Foundation.
